** Διατηρεί το προβάδισμα του το ΠΑΣΟΚ :
Το ΠΑΣΟΚ συνεχίζει να διατηρεί μεγάλο προβάδισμα έναντι της Νέας Δημοκρατίας, σύμφωνα με δημοσκοπήσεις που είδαν το φως της δημοσιότητας. Δημοσκόπηση της MRB για λογαριασμό εφημερίδας, δίνει τη διαφορά ΠΑΣΟΚ-ΝΔ στο 10,7%.
Το ΠΑΣΟΚ συνεχίζει να διατηρεί μεγάλο προβάδισμα έναντι της Νέας Δημοκρατίας, σύμφωνα με δημοσκοπήσεις εφημερίδων που είδαν το φως της δημοσιότητας. Συγκεκριμένα, σύμφωνα με δημοσκόπηση της εταιρείας MRB για λογαριασμό της εφημερίδας Real News, στην πρόθεση ψήφου, αν είχαμε σήμερα εκλογές, η διαφορά ΠΑΣΟΚ-ΝΔ είναι 10,7%, καθώς το ΠΑΣΟΚ συγκέντρωσε ποσοστό 31,9%, η ΝΔ 21,2%, το ΚΚΕ 7,2%, ο ΛΑΟΣ 5,7%, ο ΣΥΡΙΖΑ 4,4% και οι Οικολόγοι-Πράσινοι 2,6%. Εξάλλου, δημοσκόπηση της Alco που δημοσιεύτηκε στην εφημερίδα «Πρώτο Θέμα» δείχνει προβάδισμα του ΠΑΣΟΚ έναντι της ΝΔ κατά 10 ποσοστιαίες μονάδες. Ειδικότερα, στην πρόθεση ψήφου αν γίνονταν σήμερα βουλευτικές εκλογές, προηγείται το ΠΑΣΟΚ με ποσοστό 32,1% και ακολουθούν η ΝΔ με 22,1%, το ΚΚΕ με 6,3%, ο ΛΑΟΣ με 5,5%, ο ΣΥΡΙΖΑ με 3,4% και οι Οικολόγοι-Πράσινοι με 2,1%. –

Basil Venitis notes that central bank's artificial creation of credit is the culprit in the business cycle. As the boom turns into bust, the economy tries to readjust itself into a configuration that conforms to consumer preferences. That is why it is so essential for government to stay entirely out of the adjustment process, because arbitrary government behavior can only delay this necessary and healthy process. Now that ObamaCare has become law, Nobel economist Paul Krugman now is agitating for financial reform, once again creating straw men, giving us a picture of the regulatory history of finance that is not true, and proposing pseudosolutions that only will lead to more problems.Krugman's financial reform will burden markets with huge regulation. The cost of government regulation is truly staggering; it is also a barometer of how free we are to pursue our own interests and to determine the course of our own lives. Basil Venitis estimates the cost of regulations to be one trillion dollars in USA and two trillion euros in Fourth Reich(EU) every year. Financial costs are not the only burden. Regulations also result in a tremendous loss of one of our most valuable and limited resources, time. Venitis estimates the private sector is spending over 10 billion hours a year just to meet government paperwork demands in USA, and 20 billion hours in Fourth Reich. It is no wonder that regulation discourages the creation of new businesses, new jobs, new products, and new services. Starve the beast by fighting taxes.Venitis points out there has been much discussion of moral hazard in connection with the flurry of bailouts that began in 2008. Moral hazard refers to people's readiness to act with an artificially elevated level of risk tolerance because they believe that any losses they may incur will be borne by other people. Hence the bailouts will tend to make major market actors even less likely to behave prudently in the future, since if they believe they are likely to be considered too big to fail, they have more reason than ever to believe that they will not be allowed to go out of business, and therefore that they may continue to make risky bets. Venitist William Anderson points out Krugman is correct about the moral hazard in the system, but the bailout was not necessary; in fact, it has blocked the needed liquidation of bad assets in the system and it is preventing a recovery from happening. Here we see the huge gulf between the Keynesians and venitists.Anderson notes that to a Keynesian, all assets pretty much are homogeneous, and what really matters is spending. Consumption is little more than people buying back the products they make in order to keep the Circular Flow intact. Thus, throwing more money into the economy via borrowing and printing will keep the economy from falling into the pit of deflation and helping set the stage for a recovery. To a Keynesian, the worst thing that can happen in deflation, for it creates an endless downward spiral that ends at an equilibrium of high unemployment and hopelessness.Venitists take a different tact. First, consumption is a purposeful activity, done by people to meet their needs and desires. Second, the basis of consumption is production; we consume because we produce, and we pay for consumption by exchanging what we have produced for those goods and services we need.This implies that there is a balance within the economy that must be sustained. The housing meltdown came about because the go-go housing market could not continue, as the pouring of resources into housing pulled the entire system out of balance. Unfortunately, too many economists have claimed that the housing meltdown came about because housing prices fell; no, prices fell because this market could not be sustained no matter how much money the government and the banks threw into it.Anderson points out the Keynesians have made the fundamental error of violating what Carl Menger called the Law of Cause and Effect. They have assumed that the effect really was the cause of the calamity. Furthermore, they continue to demand solutions that only prop up the malinvestments, at the expense of the rest of the economy, the still-healthy portion that will not be healthy much longer if the government continues its path of borrowing, printing money, and propping up the bad investments.Anderson agrees with Krugman that the moral hazard problem is real, but he disagrees with his proposed solutions that really only compound the problem. What Krugman proposes is to bring back the banking regulations that existed from the New Deal to the early 1980s, and then putting the rest of the financial system under the same regulatory umbrella. In his view, cited elsewhere, smart and well-meaning regulators can take over from there and keep calamities from happening.Krugman forgets that the establishment of the Fed in and of itself was a huge moral hazard. The original purpose of the central bank was to be a backstop that would provide newly-printed money to member banks in case of a run or a panic, which occurred once in a while. The presence of the Fed sent a signal to the bankers that the government had their backs, and that problem continues to this day.According to Krugman, the banking cartel was doing just fine, but ideological Reaganites came in and undid the whole carefully and wisely-planned structure, all in the name of ideology. Then they created an entire shadow system, also done from ideology.In a word of Anderson, that view is nonsense. The banking cartel was losing capital because the government held down interest rates it could offer depositors even while inflation raged in double-digits. People sought other venues and found them. In the meantime, Michael Milken already was helping to finance ventures that the banks would not touch. As economists such as George Stigler and Sam Peltzman pointed out, regulation has the effect of offering protection to regulated firms, but also serving to keep out competitors. In other words, contra Krugman, regulation creates what in effect are government-sponsored cartels. From this, we see Capture Theory emerging, as the regulated industries and their government regulators form a tag team that operates to the benefit of the people in the system and against consumers.Basil Venitis points out that since its inception in 1913, the Federal Reserve has helped to devalue the dollar by 96%. During the recent economic crisis, it has poured trillions of dollars into the economy with no oversight, made secret agreements with foreign banks and governments, and has refused to tell Congress who is getting the money or to give it the details of what deals are being made. We demand full transparency from the central banks.Venitis asserts the very existence of a central bank such as the Federal Reserve aggravates, indeed institutionalizes, moral hazard. Since there is no physical limitation on the creation of paper money, firms know that no natural constraint exists on the power of the central bank to bail them out of any serious trouble. The Central Put is the implied promise that the central bank would intervene to assist the financial sector in the event of a serious downturn. No one has a right to be surprised when market actors behave accordingly. Everybody's money income is somebody else's cost. In the case of the stupidus stimulus, the administration paid for it through taxation, borrowing, and printing new money. With all three methods the net result was that someone was made better off but only at the expense of someone else. When the government forced up the minimum wage, there was no added amount of production to offset the increase in business costs. Instead, we have seen a record level of teenage unemployment. Whenever government tries to force up wages, real purchasing power falls. That is because the negative effects, which are unavoidable when such policies are implemented, will always outweigh the positive effects. While money wages might increase for some people, government has forced up business costs, so less is produced. Consumption ultimately is made possible by more production.

~** Τρεις νεκροί -σε Ηράκλειο, Μεσσηνία και Σαντορίνη- είναι ο τραγικός απολογισμός του έθιμου των βεγγαλικών.Ένα 17χρονο παιδί σκοτώθηκε το απόγευμα της Κυριακής του Πάσχα στο Ηράκλειο της Κρήτης, όταν εξερράγη στα χέρια του μια αυτοσχέδια ρουκέτα την οποία περιεργαζόταν στην αυλή το...υ σπιτιού του.Το βράδυ του Μ. Σαββάτου, στο Μοσχοχώρι Μεσσηνίας, ένας 25χρονος μετέφερε με το αυτοκίνητό του ποσότητα βεγγαλικών, αλλά και αυτοσχέδια μπαλόνια με οξυγόνο, για την Ανάσταση. Για άγνωστη μέχρι στιγμής αιτία, προκλήθηκε έκρηξη και το αυτοκίνητο τυλίχθηκε στις φλόγες, με αποτέλεσμα ο νεαρός να βρει τραγικό θάνατο.Στη Σαντορίνη, σημειώθηκε έκρηξη σε δύο αποθήκες την ώρα που νεαροί κατασκεύαζαν αυτοσχέδια βεγγαλικά. Αποτέλεσμα ήταν ένα νέο παιδί να σκοτωθεί και δύο να τραυματισθούν σοβαρά στο μάτι και στο χέρι και να μεταφερθούν αργά τη νύχτα της Ανάστασης στην Αθήνα.Συνολικά, πέντε ανήλικοι τραυματίσθηκαν σε διάφορες περιοχές της Ελλάδας την ώρα που κατασκεύαζαν ή προσπαθούσαν να ανάψουν αυτοσχέδιο βεγγαλικό. American courts are not kangaroo courts. Many European courts, especially Greek courts, are indeed kangaroo courts! Basil Venitis, twitter.com/Venitis, points out a kangaroo court is a sham legal proceeding. It denies due process rights in the name of expediency. Such rights include the right to summon witnesses, the right of cross-examination, the right not to be tried on secret evidence, the right to exclude judges or jurors on the grounds of partiality or conflict of interest. The outcome of a trial by kangaroo court is essentially determined in advance. Kangaroo court comes from the notion of justice proceeding by leaps, like a kangaroo. Venitis notes that adding insult to injury, the 200 Graecokleptocrats who robbed 200 billion euros since dictatorship in 1974 established kangaroo courts in the Greek parliament to investigate themselves for various scandals! There are 300 Graecokleptocrats in the Greek parliament. This means two out of three judges are the culprits themselves! These are the people who got two billion euro kickbacks from Siemens the last ten years, churned 80 billion euros of pension funds of poor Greek workers, gave huge valuable land to monasteries in exchange for kickbacks, got many billion euro kickbacks from military purchaces, traded antitrust panenalties for kickbacks, and myriad more scandals. Moreover, Graecokleptocrats will get several million euros in overtime payments for investigating themselves! No wonder, Greece is broke. A federal judge's ruling in a case challenging the Bush administration's infamous and illegal domestic surveillance case will likely demonstrate, once again, the hypocrisy and deceit of Barack Obama and his merry kangaroo band of antivenitist statists. Venitist Jacob Hornberger reminds us that when Planetarch Obama was a presidential candidate, he emphasized to American voters that President Bush's warrantless surveillance of Americans was unconstitutional and illegal. But once Obama got into office, he silenced his tune, especially in lawsuits that were brought by victims of this criminal action. Like Bush's Justice Department, Obama's Justice Department took the kangaroo position that people's lawsuits should be dismissed on grounds of national security because, they said, if such cases were allowed to proceed, national-security secrets would be revealed. Yeah, such secrets as the identities of federal agents who violated federal criminal statutes as well as the identities of the federal higher-ups who ordered them to do so! Can't you just see the entire nation collapsing if information like that were to be disclosed to the public? How convenient is that? All one has to do to protect federal criminals is simply cite the magic term national security and all the criminal dirt is swept under the carpet. Too bad Richard Nixon and the other Watergate conspirators didn't claim national security to keep their criminal wrongdoing secret. Or did they? In any event, this week a federal judge in one of the surveillance cases declared Bush's surveillance scheme unlawful, a ruling that places Barack Obama and his Justice Department in an interesting position. Do they let the ruling stand? Doing so would be consistent with Obama's campaign position, which mirrored that of the judge. Or do they appeal the ruling, thereby exposing, once again, the rank hypocrisy of the Obama administration? Of course, all this is occurring in the context of a civil suit. The question with respect to the criminal-justice system is: Why isn't the Justice Department securing federal grand-jury indictments against federal officials who, everyone concedes, violated federal criminal statutes? After all, the Justice Department is always overeager to enforce such stupid laws as antitrust, insider-trading, and possession and distribution of illicit drugs against the American people. Why do federal officials who committed felonies with an illegal surveillance program get a pass? Are federal officials considered better than ordinary Americans? Hornberger asserts that for once, the Obama administration should do the right thing. Not only should it not appeal the adverse ruling in the surveillance case, it should also take the side of all other victims of such illegal conduct, arguing that they are entitled to full relief in the courts. If Bush, Cheney, and any their kangaroo cronies wish to intervene in such suits to defend their illegal scheme, so be it, but this would be a good place for Obama to finally begin breaking away from Bush's massive infringements on civil liberties. Equally important, Obama's Justice Department should initiate a federal grand jury investigation into the entire illegal surveillance scheme, subpoenaing all the records of those who committed the offenses and all the records showing who was victimized. Grand jury indictments and federal criminal prosecutions should ensue. What better opportunity to show that no one, not even powerful and influential federal officials, is above the law?
